5α-androstane-3,6,17-trione - Kneller's Trione: Newly Patented Aromatase Inhibitor that Raises Testosterone Without Lowering Estrogen Levels!?

I happened onto an interesting patent ( Kneller. 2011 ), published on 02/10/2011 the author of which, Bruce Kneller, who was arrested in the course of a steroid bust back in 2006 , claims to have invented an aromatase inhibitor, 5α-androstane-3,6,17-trione (Kneller's Trione) which produces " substantial and significant increases in plasma testosterone levels in men while inducing no changes outside the accepted normal limits for plasma estradiol levels". This is very different from your usual AI (ATD, Arimidex, Letrozole, etc.) which tend to eradicate estrogen and thus produce nasty side effects. As far as its concrete applications are concerned the author writes: The oral, daily dose of Kneller's Trione can be from about 25 mg to about 750 mg per day , such as, for example, from about 25 mg to about 500 mg per day, from about 25 mg to about 250 mg per day, or from about 25 to about 100 mg per day. Trigonella foenum graecum Slightly Increases Testosterone, but Fails to Illicit Gains in Lean Body Mass

A recently published study by Colin Willborn et al. ( Willborn. 2010 ) found that supplementation with 500mg of the purported aromatase inhibitor Trigonella foenum graecum did increase total testosterone +6.57% and bioavailable testosterone +12.26%  over an eight week period. Yet, the ingredient that is part of several commercially sold " muscle builders " did not increase lean body mass in thirty resistance-trained men. Figure 1: Body-fat loss from baseline testing (T1) through Week 8 (T3), mean Delta ± SD. What it did do, however, was to support a reduction in body fat (-2.0%), beyond the one seen in the placebo group (cf. figure 1). Brassaiopsis glomerulata: Novel Natural Aromatse Inhibitor in Driven Sports Triazole

Figure 1: Chemical structure of selected components of Brassaiopsis glumerulata ( Balunas. 2009 ) Now, that the craze about USPs Pink Magic is just abating, a new purported supplement blockbusters from Driven Sports , called Triazole , is already on it's way to the market shelves. It must have been a 2009 study by Bulanas et.al. ( Balunas. 2009 ) which inspired Matthew Cahill and his team to include pZole , a propietary extract of Brassaiopsis glumerulata , in the formula of what they advertise as "the Estrogenic Equalizer". In fact, the results of the aforementioned study are promising. Out of the 13 components the scientists isolated from this shrub of family Araliaceae , no. 9, 10 and 12 (cf. figure 2) appear to be promising candidates for over-the-counter aromatase inhibitor of the year.
