Adelfo Cerame - Road to Wheelchair Championships: Don't Let Red Flags and Banana Skins Stop You!

Image
Image 1: I don't see that chair. I see an amazing physique, a great friend and an outstanding competitor! I have alway been looking up to Adelfo Cerame Jr. - ever since I first heard his voice on my friend Carl Lanore's radio show, Super Human Radio . "That's a true super human, this guy!" , that's what I thought; and this has not changed, now that we know each other for almost a year and I am calling him a friend. It has little to do with the fact that he is sitting in a wheelchair and "still competing" (so what?). In fact, I tend to forget that from time to time and am tempted to ask him why on earth he has no leg day in his weekly training regimen (I mean, come on no leg day ;-). No it's not that damn chair that amazes me. It is the way he is marching forward - constantly! Yeah, marching, not rolling! And that he almost stumbled last week and asked for help and reassurance to re-balance himself only heightened my respect for him.... but ...

Adelfo Cerame: Wheelchair Nationals Wrap-Up. Plus: Blueprint to Look Your Best on a "Big Day" in Your Life

Image
Image 1: Adelfo Cerame Jr, 2nd at the Wheelchair Nationals in West Palm Beach, Florida, doing his posing routine. For most of you it is not really news that other than his prep, the contest in Florida did not really work out the way, Adelfo (I and everyone else!) had imagined. Adelfo took 2nd, certainly a good placing, but... ah, I'll just let Adelfo tell you the whole story and leave it up to you to take a closer look at the pictures ( gallery 1 ,  gallery 2 ) and let me and our common friend know, which number you would have had written on the score card, if it had been your decision as a judge. Personally I feel like there are one, maybe two poses (both from the back, cf. image 6 ), where you could arguably have him second, that's it... and yes, I know that I am biased ;-) Back from Florida and more motivated than ever! Before I begin with my write-up on the contest-prep, the traveling and the events at the show, I want to give thanks to the Lord for blessing me wi...

Adelfo Cerame - Road to Wheelchair Nationals '12: The Final Countdown! Plus: The "No-Bro" Approach to Peak Form

Image
Image 1: Adelfo now, 9 days before the show. Even if he had not been bedridden, when he began dieting, this is an awesome result - the work of a true pro! And wherever he is going to place in Florida, I am proud to have Adelfo aboard , here at the SuppVersity! ( Click here to learn more about his journey!) As of yet, I don't have kids, so I don't know how it feels, when you have been seeing your son or daughter cramming for the finals, have given stupid advice and have offered all the help you could, but I guess, it must feel somewhat similar to the way I feel now, nine days before my "kid", or I should say, my friend, Adelfo is going to his "finals". I am excited and anxious at the same time. I am convinced he is going to take away his pro-card, but in the end, its up to the judges to decide whether or not Adelfo will be able to top this awesome contest prep off with an unequivocal "#1" on the scorecards of the judging panel. This is part of...
